About Günther Unterrainer

I was born in a mountain farm in the mountains above Bressanone, with a magnificent view of the Dolomites. This captured my fascination for the mountain already in my childhood. At the age of seven, I climbed the famous Sass Rigais (3025m) in the Dolomites with my father, my first real summit! As an adult, I worked for many years as a programmer in global companies, but used every free minute of my time for mountaineering. Two trekkings in the Himalayas awakened my love for hiking. In 2010, I trained myself as a hiking guide, specialized in Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage and made my hobby a profession. I love the mountains and people, and I enjoy telling them about everyday life in the mountains on the border between Germany and Italy.
