UIMLA · Mountain Leader
The mountains have always played an important role my life, and I have always ensured that they have never been too far away. My involvement in the outdoors and the list of my adventures, both close to home and in further flung destinations such as Mongolia and Venezuela continue to grow and inspire me. Whether it’s mountaineering in Scotland, rock climbing in China or ski touring in the Spanish Pyrenees, I embrace adventure and continually push and expand my appreciation for these beautiful, yet wild environments. Challenges within the mountains have taken me to Venezuela, Mongolia, China, Jordan, The Dolomites in Italy and the Swiss and French Alps. After completing my studies in Outdoor Education and Sport Science in Brecon, Wales, in 2004, I migrated north to the Scottish Highlands, where I gained employment, first as an Instructor, and more recently, as a Senior Instructor with The Outward Bound Trust. I have also instructed and lead for World Challenge Expeditions, Outlook Expeditions, More Than Mountains, West Coast Mountain Guides, Maximum Adventure, Abacus Mountain Guides and Hike Pyrenees. I'm both a qualified Winter Mountain Leader (WML) and International Mountain Leader (IML), enabling me to share my experiences and passion whilst working as a qualified mountain leader in the UK and overseas, in both summer and winter conditions. I have also completed my Mountain Instructor Award Training (MIA).
