About Lhakpa Kitar Sherpa
IFMGA / UIAGM Mountain Guide I was born in Bung - 9 (Khiraule) in Solukhumbu district, a small isolated village, which lies about 80 km to the south of Mount Everest. After I completed schooling in my village I came to Kathmandu in 1994 for further studies. Since then I have been involved in tourism field. I organize trekking, tours, peak climbing and expedition all over Nepal. I have completed all the mountaineering courses in Nepal and in 2009 I got International Federation of Mountain Guides’ Association (IFMGA) Guide license. I work as a climbing instructor in Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) as well as a freelance mountain guide. Currently, I am a active member of the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) and the Nepal Mountaineering Instructor Association (NMIA). I am also involved in UK based non-profit charity, which raises funds to support Khiraule Lower Secondary School in my village.
