Sonia Casas Torcida

Born in Bilbao and based in Etxuari (Navarra) I live between the van and the ropes. I usually have a permanent smile. Passionate of mountains I feel them as a sacred temple. I was the first Spanish women to receive by the Spanish Goverment the professional guide qualification TDII Alta Montaña (AEGM), and to work as a professional guide since then, setting up my own agency "Rocalia" in 2006.Nowadays I am an UIAGM aspirant and I have round 20 years of experience in the mountains, and balance working as a guide with height rope access instruction.

As a n alpinist and rock climber I know well all the Spanish hotspots, as well as the Alps, Turkey, Morocco and Patagonia. Regarding high altitude ascents I count with several 6000, 7000 summits in alpine style in Nepal, Kazakstan, Kyrgysztan, Pamir-China and Cordillera Blanca-Peru.

Fanatic all-round climber, I live life to the full, and never waste a day. Optimistic and enthusiastic, I know how to pass on what motivates me, enjoying the moment to the full and the simple things that sometimes others miss. I carry my life on a mindfullness spirit and share the meaning of really experiencing life to its core at 1000%.
