About Yu Sonohara

Hi! I'm a JMGA-certified hiking guide, living in Nagano, Japan. I run a Lodge in "Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park" with my family and am deeply in love with the nature here. Besides those beautiful view in the mountains, you can find deep history and unique culture here. I've worked for travel company that specializes in trekking and skiing overseas for 8 years, and I've stayed in the European Alps, the Canadian Rockies, and New Zealand as its guide. After those experiences, I am back in Nagano and have started guiding around. Nagano Station is about a 30-minute drive from here, so it is very easy to access from Tokyo with Shinkansen. I hope you get a chance to visit here to experience special mountain activities during your stay in Japan. We look forward to exploring nature together!
