Located about 90 minutes outside of Boise via Highway 21 and Idaho City, Idaho Wilderness Yurts is not your average adventure. During the snowy season Crooked River Road closes to automobile traffic and the yurts can be accessed via snowshoeing, skiing, and snowmobiling. From the Whoop-Um-Up Park N’ Ski parking lot, guests travel an easy 3.3 miles on an intermittently-groomed trail to the yurts. The route starts at the entrance of the parking lot and is marked until you reach the closed road, where you head east for the last stretch of your journey, soon spotting the yurts ahead. While the stated maximum capacity is 8 people, we would recommend 6 people maximum. The yurt contains one couch with dual recliners which would be able to accommodate two additional people, though. Otherwise, you can consider booking an additional yurt for larger groups (i.e. the Red or Green yurts). Be sure to bring propane for the cookstove (standard disposable or refillable), as propane is not provided by the operator at this time.
