Bradley Hut

In 1997-99, Bradley Hut was relocated from Five Lakes Basin in Granite Chief Wilderness to Pole Creek, about 2 miles north of Squaw Valley. The hut is located near Silver Peak, 4.7 miles from the Pole Creek trailhead (where BR 08 meets Hwy 89). Expect approximately 1,600′ of elevation gain. Beware of avalanche danger in this area. Overnight parking is available on a wide shoulder where BR 08 meets Hwy 89 about six miles south of I-80. Drivers should make certain their vehicles are behind snow stakes. Topo maps: Granite Chief and Tahoe City 7-1/2′ quads. Skiing is possible on the slopes and in the bowls north and west of the hut. Beware of avalanche danger, especially on Silver Peak. Good snow can also be found in Deep Creek, the next drainage north. Some travelers link Bradley with Benson Hut, about four miles north, when conditions are favorable.
